The International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) is an agreement to simplify the reporting of fuel use by motor carriers that operate in multiple jurisdictions, failure to comply with IFTA regulations, such as not filing on time, can result in penalties, interest, and even the suspension of the IFTA license.
